PVC vs Aluminium: Which Is Right for You?
We compare PVC and aluminium joinery systems in terms of thermal insulation, durability, aesthetics and cost.
One of the most common questions when choosing window and door systems is the difference between PVC and aluminium. Both materials have their own advantages, and the right choice depends on the needs of the project.
PVC systems offer superior thermal and sound insulation. Thanks to their multi-chamber profile structure they provide energy savings and are generally more economical. With their maintenance-free surface they are frequently preferred in residential projects.
Aluminium systems, on the other hand, stand out with their high strength and slim-profile aesthetics. They are ideal for modern architectural projects requiring large glass surfaces and wide openings. With thermally insulated (thermal-break) series, energy performance is also strong.
In short: if maximum insulation and economy are the priority, PVC stands out; if slim profiles and large openings are the priority, aluminium comes to the fore. In mixed projects, solutions using both systems together are also possible.
